Yeah, over 700, actually. That's how many people applied for auditions for my production. How incredibly humbling. And how amazing to remember that there are SO many talented people in this city. So many.
Recently, I went back home for a couple weeks -- just to check that it was still standing and that my family was still chugging along. It is and they are, but it was so all so very odd. For as long as I can remember, there is a certain part of that city, as you're driving in from the airport, where it felt like yeah, I'm here now. And this time it didn't feel that way. It was just an odd kind of empty feeling, oh I used to live here. It was crazy good to see the family and crazy good to have catch ups with old friends and all that, but I couldn't wait to get back to London to start work on the next round of projects. I'm booked through July, by the way. Pretty excited about that.
So yeah. Realizing just quite how happy I am to be doing the work I do. How pleased I am to be back in my adopted city. And preparing to hunker down in a very serious way and Get. Some. Really. Good. Work. Done.
